Thirty Dayz Of 'Clean Eating': Postponed

Goodaye' to all those out in the bloggosphere! I hope you are enjoying this beautiful day :)

I am just blogging a quick update for my next '30 Dayz of' challenge. I had initially said that my clean eating challenge would begin this Monday, October 8th, but due to circumstances I am forced to postpone this challenge to the following week. The good news, this gives those participating an extra week to get on board and clean out those cupboards. To give you an idea of what I mean when I say clean eating, think Daniel Fast or consider the following list of foods that I will be cutting out for the next 30 days to help you get started. If you want to follow my same list, then great, if not make your own and go from there :)

Clean Eating List of 'No-Go' foods

1. No Refined - Sugars
2. No Saturated Fats
3. No Processed Foods
4. No Coffee
5. No Gluten
6. No Red Meat/Pork
7. No cream/ limited dairy

This list is tailored to me and my needs, and is likely appropriate for many people. It is going to be a lot harder than it sounds I am sure. I see it as pressing the reset button on my eating habits. I plan to eat wholefoods, lots of greens, and fruits and veggies. Eat from the earth, natural products, super-foods that are nutritious.

Even though I have been eating similar to this way for some time now, I know that I do enjoy my occasional treats from the local cafe, and my morning coffee on the way to school so giving those up are going to be quite difficult. I have adopted a mostly gluten-free diet already, and to those wanting to do this challenge who think they can't give up bread, trust me if you try it you will most likely feel much better. My body doesn't process gluten well, I am self-diagnosed, but have done so by doing 'reset' diets like this before where I strip back my diet to the bare minimum for a week or so and slowly add things back in to see what it is that is making my body so upset. I found gluten and dairy to be two items I have had to severely cut back on that I never would have thought of before and have found myself to be feeling much better. However, in the past few weeks I have gotten off the wagon with my eating a little bit and hoping this challenge will 'reset' my good eating habits. I would love to have you join with me. :)

All the best,

Rebecca

  1. I don't know that I will go quite as extreme as you (I don't think Micah would allow it), but we have been working on not buying pre-made food. I am loving that and will continue on this track. I am going to try to convince Micah to cut down on the red meat too. :)

  2. I like the idea of this... I have some fantastic Daniel Fast recipes, however, it's shocking how expensive it is to eat healthy. I'll need to wait for a bigger budget for my groceries.
